Hirsi Ali is back!

Yesterday day I reported that while she was still in hiding she was under attack by party members of her own VVD party (read here).
But yesterday evening VVD party leader, Van Aartsen, distanced him self from Hirsi Ali when he addressed party member in the city of Groningen. He said that she is not allowed to deviated from the official party line. He is against any political attack on a religion. Because liberals see religion as a private mater. VVD members should not be concerned with the inner workings of a religion. "We should not replace tolerance by Islamophobia or secular conversion zealotery, but we should strive against any public appearance of intolerance" he said [Islamist and other opponents say she is on a liberal Jihad].
"The freedom of religion is important. Even something as cruel as a ritual murder, may not seduce us to suppress that freedom". What must be tackled, Van Aarsten said, is the excrescences of that religion.
Hirsi Ali's press conference
But today, Ayaan could react when she gave a press conference. She opened the press conference with the words: "75 days I could not be here and thus also not on the cremation of Theo van Gogh". And told that she only really got to know Theo after she made the movie Submission with him. She said the past period was heavy and that she received a lot of supportive e-mails, but also criticism. The words of the mother of Theo van Gogh did her good [She told that Hirsi Ali was not to blame for the dead of her son].
In what could be seen as an answer to the criticism, she said it is just obvious that there should be room for religion. "But that should happen in freedom". A small minority of Muslims choose to use violence. But the voice of the silent majority should now be heard. She further points out that the Muslim extremism that struck The Netherlands was not a local incident but an international phenomenon. "We must be prepared for more violence".
"I am not trying to hurt people feelings. I have opinions and I like to be judged on the power of my arguments. It is all about words, not violence. We do not end discussions with violence."
About Submission is long thought by Ayaan and Theo. They also spoke extensively about the risks of making a movie about the abuse of Muslim woman. She finds it horrible that some Muslims choose to use violence and murdered Theo van Gogh. She closed her press conference with the words: "The open debate will triumph. I will continue!"
The reaction of van Aartsen shows a very ignorant understanding of the all encompassing totalitarian system of Islam. If this continues, Hirsi Ali could be forced to join Geert Wilders his political movement. Although she does not seem to support his small government ideals and she likes the protection of an older, bigger and more influential political party.Source: AD, nu.nl, fok
